BRACE Events in February 2025

Christmas + New Year Closures

Researchers should note that BRAC will be closed completely on Wednesday 25 + Thursday 26 December, and Wednesday 1 January. We will open up until 4PM on Thursday 19 December and reopen at 10AM Thursday 2 January.

Churning Through History: Discovering Dairy Through The Archives

Our latest research piece showcasing the sort of information that can be found in the BRAC and PROV collections is now online to view, take a look HERE, using the controls at the base to pause or rewind as needed.

 

NEW! Bendigo, Marong and Eaglehawk Rates Collection Digitised

The collection of City of Sandhurst and City of Bendigo Rate Books (1856 to 1930), Shire of Marong (1864-1929) and Borough of Eaglehawk (1864-1930) have now been digitised and is available online. The layouts are in street order, and your can learn more bout navigating these series with THIS GUIDE

Interested in Land Titles?

While BRAC can help researching the history of local properties (using parish plans, rate books and permit registers), we do not hold information on titles - documents and records around land ownership, transfer, encumbrances etc are held by LandData, and much of it can be accessed online (sometimes with a fee).
